One of my chums has access to a family property that was originally built in 1923. It’s a stone school with the original house attahed for the head teacher and offering accommodation also for other teaching staff and the Matron and her team. Its quite a long buldsing, as if they addedd thse rooms on, one at a time as an afterthought. The grounds look good too with all the trees still around them that feature in a romantic photo from way bak when. The new owners were thrilled when the vendor knocked on their doors a couple of months ago, to offe them a copy of work he’d done to uncover the history of the school and all it’s many incarnations. The photographs hanging around the school room have that wonderful victorian look, of little girls and boys in the right clothing, reflecting it’s service to the estate it still formed part of, albeit no longer open as a school. it’s a truly excellent pic showing the furniture of the day and the children, of course.
