A young colleague has recently moved to her ‘forever’ home;  that is, they sold a tiny little 3 bedroomed starter home in a nearby town and moved to a somewhat more palatial pad out in the country.  I have seen and actually stayed over in the new place and indeed it is a very nice big home for them.  Taking the unconventional route – they skipped on the next two or three sizes up in general house progress.  There are jobs to be done in the new place obviously – it is an old stone conversion and the kitchen is adequate but the dimensions suggest it could become one of those spectacular make over candidates so loved by kitchen design agencies and I can imagine this would be a very good way to get an expensive kitchen make over but for less money.  TV and magazine editors will be piling up outside the utiity door!
